Nielson Scientific’s Band-Pass Terahertz Filters are precision-engineered components designed to transmit a defined frequency range while efficiently rejecting out-of-band signals. By leveraging proprietary micro-fabrication techniques, our filters deliver high spectral selectivity, excellent transmission efficiency, and reliable performance across the terahertz and far-infrared spectrum. These filters are ideal for advanced research, imaging systems, spectroscopy, and next-generation communication platforms.

Nielson Scientific designs and manufactures passive band-pass filters for terahertz and far-infrared wavelengths using precisely engineered metallic microstructures. These structures are tuned to exhibit specific resistance, capacitance, and inductance, forming microscopic resonant circuits that selectively transmit a targeted frequency band while reflecting or attenuating out-of-band radiation. The result is high spectral selectivity and improved signal purity for demanding optical and THz applications. The plot to the left illustrates a typical band-pass response, showing strong transmission within the designed passband and effective rejection outside of it.

Our unique manufacturing approach enables us to offer filters with almost any passband and aperture size. This includes the capability to create much larger filters, as well as custom shapes. Feel free to request any size or frequency below.
