Background
There is a growing need for economical, commercially available custom patterned flex circuits for a variety of applications such as ultra-sensitive, high pixel count instruments/focal plane arrays for astronomical studies as well as quantum computing and quantum information processing.

To address this need, we are developing a manufacturing approach that will create scalable and economical high-density custom-patterned flex cables by combining elements of traditional flex circuit manufacturing with our proprietary rapid direct-write nano-ablation process. The nano-ablation technology enables the rapid fabrication of sub-micron scale features across large areas, eliminating the slow and costly steps required by conventional lithography-based fabrication, but still enabling feature sizes necessary for high-density channels in the flex cables.
